Sule Appoints Eight New Commissioner Nominees In Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has nominated eight individuals for appointment as commissioners to serve in his administration for the remaining months of his tenure.

The nominations were announced on Wednesday during plenary by the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, who read the governor’s letter before lawmakers in Lafia.

The commissioner nominees are Muhammad Habeeb Nagogo (Wamba Local Government Area), Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed (Lafia LGA), Mohammed Baba Shehu (Keffi LGA), Mohammed Iyimoga Oyigye (Obi LGA), Adamu Rabecca Kpadji (Wamba LGA), Nawani Aboki (Doma LGA), Jibril Abdullahi Ibrahim, FCNA (Nasarawa LGA), and Ashefo Daniel Paul (Lafia LGA).

Following the announcement, the Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to notify the nominees to submit 30 copies of their curriculum vitae and appear before the Assembly for screening on Friday, August 7, 2026.

The appointments come weeks after the Nasarawa State Government carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle aimed at repositioning the administration for the effective delivery of its remaining mandates before the expiration of Governor Sule’s tenure.

On July 22, the Secretary to the State Government, Labaran Shuaibu Magaji (SAN), announced that six commissioners had been directed to step aside following a State Executive Council meeting in Lafia.

The affected ministries included Works, Women Affairs, Information, Lands, Science and Technology, and Security and Other Sundry Matters.
