Shehu Sani Reacts As Kwara Senator, Mustapha Dumps APC For PDP

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the defection of Senator Saliu Mustapha from the ruling All Progressives Congress to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

Mustapha, who represents Kwara Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, recently dumped the APC for the PDP following a reported rift between him and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Commenting on the development, Sani expressed sadness over the lawmaker’s departure from the ruling party but noted that political friction between governors and sitting senators often drives such decisions.

Sharing his perspective on social media, the former lawmaker stated that he understood the dynamics at play, referencing his own past experiences with political conflicts involving state executives.

Sani noted that while he was unhappy to hear about Mustapha’s exit from the ruling party, he respects the senator’s right to make his political choices given the realities on the ground.

Wishing the Kwara lawmaker success in his new political journey, Sani added that posterity would ultimately vindicate Mustapha if his decision was made in good faith.
