‘Massive Win’ –Arteta Reacts To Arsenal’s Win Against Aston Villa

Date:

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has described Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park as a massive win fueled by the lingering pain of last season’s defeat at the same venue.

Recall that Bukayo Saka scored the decisive goal in the 59th minute from close range after a cutback from Riccardo Calafiori.

Arsenal kept Unai Emery’s side from registering a single shot on target during the match.

In a chat with Sky Sport, Arteta praised his squad depth and the impact of the finishers who came off the bench to help see out the hard-fought result, including substitute Eberechi Eze.

“Really happy, it’s a massive win. It’s a tough place to come and earn three points. I think we deserved it,” he said.

“We had a great performance. With 11, it wasn’t enough, the finishers came in and did a magnificent job to finish the game and win it.

“I know how tough it is to win here. Every big team has struggled against them because they are so good.

“I always trust my players. The level depends on the moment as well. Last year, we lost here in a really difficult way. That was still in the tummy.

“Ebs creates the action that wins us the game. Ezri, as well, really composed and really calm with every decision he made. I’m really happy with all of them.”
