Delta Sports Commission Chair Meets Team Nigeria Athletes In Scotland

The Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission (DSC), Onoriode Oborevwori, has met with Delta-born athletes representing Nigeria at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Scotland, commending their performances and encouraging them to sustain their momentum.

Speaking during the interaction, Oborevwori praised the athletes for their dedication and discipline, noting that their early performances were commendable. “You have shown great determination and pride representing Delta State and Nigeria. Your performance so far is impressive, and we are confident you will achieve even greater success,” he said.

He further urged the athletes to remain focused and resilient as the competition progresses. “Stay committed, remain disciplined, and keep pushing your limits. The entire state is proud of you and firmly behind you,” he added.

The DSC Chairman also reiterated the unwavering commitment of Sheriff Oborevwori to sports development in the state. According to him, “Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is deeply committed to sports development. His administration will continue to invest in facilities, training, and athlete welfare to ensure Delta remains a powerhouse in Nigerian sports.”

He assured the athletes of continued support from the state government, stressing that sports remain a vital tool for youth empowerment and global recognition. “We will continue to create opportunities for our athletes to thrive and compete at the highest level. Delta State will not relent in its efforts to build champions,” he concluded.
