World Cup 2026: Morocco Deserved Win Over Scotland — Bounou

Date:

Yassine Bounou believed Morocco deserved to beat Scotland in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group C encounter, Completesports.com reports.

The Atlas Lions defeated Steve Clarke’s side 1-0 at Boston Stadium on Saturday morning.

Morocco’s solitary goal came courtesy of Ismael Saibari in the second minute.

Saibari ran past the Scottish back line, brought down a well-weighted ball from Brahim Diaz and slammed the ball past Angus Gunn and into the roof of the net.

The goal was the fastest so far at FIFA World Cup 2026, and Morocco’s fastest ever at the mundial.

Bounou Thumbs Up Slim Win

Bounou believed the North Africans were the superior side, controlling the game and generating the most dangerous opportunities.

“I think we played a very good game against a strong opponent, with players with a lot of experience,” Bounou was quoted by FIFA.com.

” I think we had a lot of patience and we were able to create chances, although they were in a very, very low block. In the last ten minutes they pushed a little more and, when we had to step back, we did it well.”

Morocco will face already eliminated Haiti in their last group game next week Thursday.
