2027: ADC Picks Ambarura For Sokoto Deputy Gov

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sokoto State Chapter, has announced the nomination of Hon. Bello Isah Ambarura, a member representing Illela/Gwadabawa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, as the Deputy Governorship candidate to Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan-Iya, the party’s Governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Sokoto State.

According to the party, the nomination was made in accordance with Section 187(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), following wide consultations and careful consideration of the qualities required to build a strong, competent, and people-oriented leadership team for Sokoto State.

In a statement issued by Hon. Lamir Aminu, Publicity Secretary of the Caretaker Committee of the Sokoto Chapter of the ADC, Hon. Bello Isah Ambarura was described as a seasoned technocrat and accomplished public servant who rose through the ranks of the Sokoto State Civil Service to become a Permanent Secretary.

Following his retirement, he was appointed Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, and was subsequently elected to the Sokoto State House of Assembly, where he served from 2019 to 2023 as Majority Leader. He is currently representing Illela/Gwadabawa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

His extensive experience in public administration and legislative service will complement the vision and leadership of His Excellency Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan-Iya, FCNA, as the ADC presents a capable, credible, and people-centred ticket for the 2027 Governorship Election.

The party congratulated Hon. Bello Isah Ambarura on his nomination and called on all members, supporters, and the good people of Sokoto State to unite behind the Manir Muhammad Dan-Iya/Bello Isah Ambarura ticket in the collective pursuit of a more secure, prosperous, and progressive Sokoto State.

Meanwhile, the ADC Governorship Candidate in the state, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’Iya (Walin Sokoto), has congratulated Hon. Bello Isah Ambarura on his emergence as the party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate for the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Dan’Iya described the development as a significant milestone in the party’s preparations for the elections and expressed confidence that the ADC now presents a formidable, experienced, and people-oriented ticket capable of delivering purposeful leadership to the people of Sokoto State.

In a statement issued by his Media Aide, Aminu Abdullahi, the ADC gubernatorial candidate commended the leadership of the party, its elders, and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in Hon. Ambarura.

He noted that the consensus reached in adopting the Deputy Governorship Candidate reflects the maturity, unity, and internal democracy that continue to distinguish the ADC as a party committed to collective decision-making and the advancement of the state’s interests above personal ambitions.

Hon. Dan’Iya described Hon. Bello Isah Ambarura as a seasoned administrator, accomplished legislator, and respected public servant whose years of experience in both the executive and legislative arms of government would add immense value to the ADC ticket.

He noted that Hon. Ambarura rose through the ranks of the Sokoto State Civil Service to become a Permanent Secretary before serving as Commissioner for Commerce and Industries.

He further highlighted his tenure as Majority Leader of the Sokoto State House of Assembly between 2019 and 2023 and his current representation of the Illela/Gwadabawa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives as evidence of his competence, leadership, and commitment to public service.
